A field of scientific study is called an ology. Most science fields have names with an -ology suffix. Here is an alphabetical list of science ologies and what they study. A list of non-ology sciences is also provided.

Of course, not every word that ends with an -ology suffix is a science! Examples include apology, doxology, piphilology, and homology. Sometimes words can be misleading, like horology is the study of time, while a chronology is a timeline of events.
